“Who, being loved, is poor?”

Me? A Princess? SHUT. UP.

Princess Diaries is a favorite series for me (*still eagerly awaiting PD #3*). So I came up with this PD themed date idea. The main activity for this date includes a large canvas, balloons, paint, and darts. See where I’m going with this? (Unless you haven’t seen the movie, then you don’t see where I’m going but you should still see the movie) It really is so fun. I suggest laying down a tarp or scrap cloth/sheet you’re willing to stain. In addition to this fun activity, you can have corn dogs (homage to the Queen’s first corn dog) or eat ice cream out of pints (homage to Mia’s go-to for an emotional breakdown).

Our tools of choice

Cultures

I love this date. One year during the Olympics, my mom themed dinner every night as a different competing country. We enjoyed a new country and amazing authentic recipes every night of the games! Years later, I’ve adapted it into a fun date idea. Simply pick a country, as close to home or far out as you would like, and research authentic dishes from that country! I enjoy going a step further and picking a few words of the native language to learn and use throughout the night. A very simple example situation is, say I pick Netherlands. I Googled “Netherlands famous dish” and I got Stroopwafel (*drools*) and Hollandse Nieuwe.

The beloved Stroopwafel *drools in Dutch*

Sunrise & Sunset

One year for Valentine’s Day, Daniel (have ya’ll met? That’s my Husband) took me from one side of Florida to the other to see both Sunrise and Sunset over the ocean *heart eyes* oof, still don’t think he’ll ever beat that date. Anyways, if going coast to coast isn’t an option for you, you can just as simply find your towns best Sunrise/Sunset viewing spots. You may have to split up the date, unless you are okay planning a whole day of activities together.

An ice cream/sunset ending.

First Date Date

Have you been dating awhile? Think back, waaaay back, to the first date (hopefully it was enjoyable). This date has you bring back all the old memories with trying to recreate the first date. Go to Billboard’s website and look at what was charting (you can go all the way back to 1958!). Play the tunes of the time, get the food you got on that first date, and do whatever activity you did on that first date. #FlashBackFriday #ThrowBackThursday …. You get it.

Whatever you do, do it hand in hand.

When We Were Young

Similar to the First Date Date, we’re throwing it back. However, we’re going even further back now! Childhood! Picking your favorites, that you can still remember, and eating the foods, playing the games, watching the TV, etc. If you’re having problems remembering, take to Google and search “____ nostalgia” and insert the year you were 8 or 10 years old and that should do the trick.
Example: fruity pebbles were my favorite, Bear in the Big Blue House was the bomb, as well as Nickelodeon and Disney channels. Oh and Block Buster! Ah yes, I am officially old. Anyways..
