Drive ‘n Gaze

We all know it, we all love it (I’m sure we don’t all love it, but come on now). The best part of driving around and looking at Christmas lights is it simply costs you the cost of driving! You can up the magic by adding hot chocolate, hot tea, or hot coffee. Add in some Christmas tunes and you’ve got a cozy, cheap date night!

It’s Tradition!

One of the most exciting things about being married into (or just getting close to) another family is they have their own traditions! They have their own jokes, memories, and annual events that you get to learn, enjoy, and maybe even adapt into your own life and family! It truly is a sweet and magical experience getting to be apart of someone’s family traditions.

Seeing isn’t believe.
Believing is seeing.

Tim Allen > (Most) Everyone. The Santa Clause (1994) is probably my favorite Christmas movie, to be honest. And The Santa Clause 2 (2002). And The Santa Clause 3 (2006). And Elf (2003). And How the Grinch Stole Christmas (2000). And White Christmas (1954). And Home Alone (1990). And… Anyways, this date is like the Movie Night at Home+ date but with a Christmasy twist. All Christmas movies, whichever are your favorites! Swap normal snacks for holiday snacks such as hot chocolate, peppermint sticks, popcorn (I guess popcorn is all season snack), Christmas cookies, etc. Whatever you do, don’t forget the candles!

Romantic vibes in my cup.

Snow Date

If you’re lucky enough (YES, you are lucky) to have snow days, take advantage of this amazing, beautiful phenomenon. Have a fun and silly play date in the snow by sledding, going on a walk, or even throw some snowballs around. Make sure you walk close to keep each other warm!

I saw snow for the very first time in 2018 and this was just a few moments after. There were many more, playful, snow-man-making moments in the following days.

Decor Date

Some people see decorating as a chore, others love decorating no matter what time of year it is. Whichever category you fall into, I believe decorating for the holiday season is a great chance to be productive and make the best out of a situation that is going to happen either way (if you decorate, that is). Have the candles going, the music pumping, and stop for a dance every now and then for a surely romantic evening!

I took this our first Christmas as a married couple, decorating our first tree together.
