Ice to Meet You
You can do it on ice, you can do it on hardwood floor.. It’s skating! Like many other public group activities, I’m sure your local rink is offering discount days, if not also coupons as well. Check Groupon, call the rink, and look at their website to find the best deals around! Hot chocolate or coffee is a great way to round out this date!
H2O
Once more, take to Google and find your closest Aquarium! We love aquariums! We love the ocean, water, and animals so aquariums check so many boxes for us (we actually went for our last anniversary). Aquariums are generally dimly lit (in areas) and chilly so it really sets a romantic mood as well. Check out their website or call ahead for specials or the best day to go.
Mini-Golf
It’s like golf, but mini! Generally cheaper than normal golf and very welcoming to (if not exclusively for) amateurs. Since it’s somewhat of a touristy activity, you can often times find coupons for them in those free local travel magazines! Or just look around online (Google, Groupon) for discounts. Tip: just make sure you aren’t both super competitive otherwise it may make for a tense night (*cough cough*).
I’ve Got an IKEA
I mean idea.. I mean Ikea.. IKEA! It’s huge, it’s European, it has amazing meat balls. Find your nearest Ikea and you can easily spend some time there. Maybe you’re looking for something, maybe not. Either way, it’s a fun, safe, free (until the basket starts filling up) environment to spend some time together. Added date points if you stop at the cafe for a snack and refreshment!
Tiny Gift
It doesn’t have to be tiny in size, just the budget. The game is, you pick your favorite store and you both have $5 to go spend on the each other. After you’ve both finished, you meet up and exchange your cheap gifts. Cheap, but still very sweet. It could be a beautiful card, a cheap bouquet of flowers, their favorite candy, whatever you think they will enjoy!
