Thrift: There’s generally two responses:

1. I love thrifting!
or
2. Ehh, ew.

Antiques: aged craftsmanship.

Whichever your response is, you ended up here for a reason and I hope you will soon see thrift stores from a whole new perspective.
When you take a closer look at thrift stores, you will realize that they are about much more than saving a buck. Thrift stores provide the opportunity to recycle resources and materials (that otherwise would have ended up in a landfill), support local businesses/causes, and generally save you a significant amount of money in the process.

Still not convinced? Take a look to see just some the hidden gems I’ve snagged from various thrift stores to use as gifts:

This awesome, still in box, “Dad Juice”mug!
This made in USA cutting board in the shape of Michigan!
This awesome gumball machine!
This set of 6 Pier 1 wine charms.
Wag more, Bark less. Words to live by.
The best thrift store find ever. A haul of Vans still in their boxes!

Thrifting tips:
1. Don’t wait until the holidays to start checking out the thrift stores. They have discounted goodies all year round!
2. Many thrift stores offer additional discounts such as military discount day, senior discount day, discount based on color tag day, and other general sales so you can save even more! Make sure you do some research on your local thrift stores to find out the different days they offer which discounts.
3. Know your audience. Some people are obsessed with mugs and can’t wait to receive that cute “But First Coffee” mug, others despise collecting mugs and will for sure be regifting.
